Big Whiskey is the best Dave Matthews Band album since BTCS! I'm still playing it on repeat - since Tuesday at 12:01 am! It has everything you want from Dave, minus saxophonist LeRoi Moore, who tragically passed away last summer... we're seeing them live July 24th in Hershey - with Jason Mraz opening.

  3. I like project Natal. I think that it is something new and different that will probably have a good learning curve to it. I don't think that people are going to be able to fight like the kid does right off the bat, the software probably won't be ready. But I do think that there would be some great things you can do. It will take time, but people would get used to it, just like when new controllers came out with more buttons. I know of some people who didn't like them because there was too much, but after they spent time on it, they learned to love them. Also, take into consideration the Wii. It is a different way to play, and look at how well they are selling (better than 360 or PS3).

  4. The drug companies are the reason universal healthcare, AKA socialized healthcare, will never work without draining every penny you have. They do more harm than help. The whole Idea that there is a such thing as "Generic Medicine" should show you that drugs are WAY over-priced. Why should a pill cost $10 when a different company can make it for pennies on the dollar? It's all a scam and the government lets it happen.

P.S. Dave, I think you meant Mayo clinic like the condiment, not the ancient civilization.

  5. P.P.S. The only thing I will say about Sotomayor is that the media's response to her quote that you mentioned shows that racism is alive and well and aimed at white people. If a white male would have said the same type of thing he would have been removed from consideration right away. I'm tired of Obama's selections to government positions looking like a United Colors of Benetton Ad. Pick people based on qualifications not diversity. Not saying she isn't qualified, because I don't know, but she is obviously ignorant.

  6. Drug companies are evil, I agree. Unregulated capitalism throughout every facet of life is also to blame, because it allows companies with normative functions of providing for the public good (the media, pharmaceuticals/health care etc.)to be run by conglomerates who couldn't care less.

I think president Obama feels like he has to be the symbol of diversity. In a way, I feel sorry for him. He is in a position that nobody has ever been in, and I'm sure it's difficult to want to please all 300,000,000 of us. He does have some obligation to the people who got him elected: the youth vote, the minority vote (regardless of how we feel about why they voted for him), et al. However, he has already let down homosexuals and the middle class... I do not envy any president. I feel just as bad for Bush II, who was not the worst president ever (see Franklin Pierce). 9/11 and Iraq will forever tarnish what would have been just another mediocre guy in a job too big for him. Obama came into a mess, and he's not perfect. It still hasn't been 6 months. Let's wait and see.

As long as there is race, there will be racism. A person saying something stupid about another person is wrong regardless of what color their skin is, or the color of whoever they said it about. Our generation has a pretty positive idea about race and race relations. Hopefully in 20 years when all the old people are gone things will at least be a little different. It will never go away.

  7. for anyone who cares to learn something about sonia sotomayor, here is the questionnaire she filled out for congress ... http://judiciary.senate.gov/nominations/SupremeCourt/Sotomayor/SoniaSotomayor-Questionnaire.cfm

  8. I really tried to read the info on that site. And I did read quite a bit. However, all of the legalese gave me a headache and now I am blind. I could care less about the supreme court because like John said, I will never have to go in front of them. I just hope she is instrumental in the legalization of marijuana.
