Dave makes a really good roadkill pizza! The Walmart closest to us has started to sell more health food, but they're still behind. POWM is just freaking hilarious. I use Walmart all the time, but that site makes me laugh. The pimp kills me every time!
ReplyDeleteI have a question about college. Does everyone really need to go? I went to a tech school for 2 years and got my degree in Computer Science, but I didn't go until I decided further education might be a good idea. I was like 24 at the time. So, what's the big push with seniors in high school. Maybe letting live a little bit and making a decision is a good idea?
OH THE EAGLES LET ME DOWN!
Gabi loves gift cards because she gets whatever she wants. Her tastes change all the time.
QOTW: Nativity Creche
About the Pats fan my stepdad is the same way but with the steelers...It gets real annoying...Im not a fan I only watch football to see how many letters they can fit on the back of jersys...Rothlisberger takes the cake...
ReplyDeletePenn. State Really? I though a Florida school would take that award...
I think they should give you a test every year and if you pass you get out...(Then I would not have to deal with dave)...
Is collage worth it? I don't care im going to a trade school...
Lol i watched the Jumbotronicus vid that pretty darn funny...
As for gift cards...you should sent you lisiners of the week a $10 gift card to amazon...
GOTW: fun...
QOTW: I have no clue...
College is not for everyone. Working for a year or two can really put things in perspective, and that's when the military or a trade become valuable. College is seen as the "normal" or "cool" thing for seniors in high school. That's why I went way back in 1999. It took me a couple years in the "real" world to realize that I was wasting my time and potential without the education I needed for the career I most wanted. That education, for me, was college and a post-graduate program. Obviously not everyone wants or needs to do that, and the pressure in high school is ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteI didn't mean to offend too much about schools being better or worse. Part of me wanting an education is me wanting the most money I can squeeze out of my brain and my particular skill set. If a bachelor's, master's, or whatever gets you a bigger paycheck, then I am all for it. What I'm against is the system that is in place that makes you "need" a degree to get promoted as a nurse (I saw that example play out in person and it wasn't good in any way). I would never go to a law school that doesn't want me to take the LSAT or a grad school that doesn't want a GRE or other equivalent exam score because the marketplace is so competitive that I want those exams, along with other qualifications, to set me apart. Not everyone wants or needs that. Many nursing students at Penn State-Shenango just needed their credits to be easy so they could keep getting promoted and receive their normal raises. I don't blame them for not wanting to go to a harder school. If school is really about learning, then a person should go where it's academically rigorous enough for them to be challenged and rewarded by the experience. If it's about cash, go online or to a small branch of a big school.
As for the What Would Tyler Durden Do? website comments, it's a funny site and I appreciated the comment. Upon further review, I think Durden would use the Internet for this sort of thing, but I bet the Anarchist Cookbook might be more his cup of tea... maybe he wrote it.
Gift cards limit choice, which is bad. But looking a gift horse in the mouth and/or complaining about something free is tacky and a bit classless. Be happy anyone give you anything, because in all likelihood you don't deserve it. Happy Holidays!
See, I love the idea of trade schools or military training because it gives you some idea of what you're getting into and, in the case of the military, experience. Should you want to move up in your field, I say logically college is a good idea. I had to have some sort of training before I started in the field I'm in now. Thank GOD the Army gave that to me at a somewhat free rate. Honestly, most aviation employers like to see that I've had that 6 years time on the flight line, maintaining and repairing aircraft. In some cases, that allows me to get paid more.
ReplyDeleteJohn you sounded so depressed at the beginning of the show. Cheer up man; it's a new year. And Dave why all the hate against gift cards? There are so many other bad things in the world to hate. If you gave me cash I would have spent it on groceries or some other household need, but if you give me a Starbucks gift card, I would go out and treat myself to a coffee or have a coffee date with Jon which is nice. Gift cards are nice way to give someone a free way to spend money at a store they like without feeling guilty.
