Solution: Why does a phone ring more than once? I like that a text message only rings once!!! MY PHONE IS NOW FIXED!!! I will release, as a new podcast, the ringtone that I now use. It is half a second a ringing followed by a minute of silence.

Adam Carolla on Pete Holmes’s “You Made it Weird” podcast
The major thing that irks me about Carolla and keeps me from listening is how he is at once arrogant and “wise,” however most of his wisdom is 1950’s-era male machismo. 1 out of 100 things Carolla says are great, but he says 100 things a minute, so the good gems of truth get lost in things like him bragging about getting paid $35,000 for a night of stand-up comedy. Also, the fact that he calls himself a comedian is at least debatable and at most wrong. He says funny things on a stage, but if Jimmy Kimmel hadn’t “discovered” him, would he have slogged out doing open mics for a decade after getting booted from the Groundlings? He basically said he only “works” so he can buy expensive vintage racecars.
